60 days. Turnips are an important vegetable in so many ways. At the farm we use this storage root eaten fresh, in soups and ferments and for its nutrient-dense greens eaten year-round. Seed from this variety was shared with Sascha Meier and I from an elder farmer while traveling in the Himalaya. His village raised this crop at nearly 14,000' elevation and depended on these tasty storage roots to get through the long, extreme mountain winters.
