Allium ampeloprasum
110 days. Hard-to-find French heirloom is so named because its dark green leaves sometimes develop a tinge of blue during cold spells. Hardy fat medium-long shanks with mild flavor good in soups. Dates back to the 19th century. Overwintered in our inner-mountain Oregon climate (USDA zone 6) for the 10 years we have enjoyed this variety. Mulch may be needed to protect roots in colder climates.
